Number of moles = Weight in g/ Weight in g/mol

Weight in g/mol of Oxygen = 16 g/mol × 2 = 32 g/mol

Weight in gram of Oxygen = 40 gram

So number of moles = 40 g/ 32 g/mol

= 5/4 mol

In decimal value we can say that,

1.25 moles.

40 gram of Oxygen contain 1.25 moles of Oxygen.

Answer : 1.25 moles
