Organic Evolution is the changes that take place between parents and their offsprings. It cannot be equated with progress because evolution just means coming up of more complex characters. These complex characters might not be better than the previous ones.

e.g: Humans have complex body designs as compared to bacterias but still bacterias can survive very harsh conditions like high temperature.
