osmosis and diffusion are two different phenomenons....

osmosis = osmosis is the spontanoeus movement of water through a semipermeable membrane from a region of low solute concentration to a more concentrated solution.

diffusion = it's the movement of particles from a region of higher concentration to a region of lower concentration.
