Osmosis is the spontaneous net movement of solvent molecules through a semi-permeable membrane into a region of higher solute concentration, in the direction that tends to equalize the solute concentrations on the two sides..... types of osmosis;-The three types of osmotic conditions that affect living cells are called hypertonic, hypotonic, and isotonic states. These terms describe theosmotic state of the solution that surrounds a cell, not the solution inside the cell. Hypertonic conditions cause water to diffuse out of the cell, making the cell shrivel..................

- Osmosis is defined as the diffusion of water or solvent across a semipermeable membrane from a region of its high concentration to region of its low concentration .
Types -
There are two types of osmosis
- Endosmosis
1) Osmotic entry of water in the cell or system .
2) When we place the cell in lower concentration of water enters into the cell by the process of endosmosis
- Exosmosis
1) osmotic withdrawal of water from a cell or system.
2) When we place the cell in higher concentration the water comes out of the cell by the process of exosmosis .
