In the animal kingdom, mammals produce offspring with fertilization in which the fusion of male and female gamete takes place resulting in the formation of an embryo. Fertilization can be of two types external and internal.
OVIPAROUS ANIMALS:
Animals that lay eggs are called oviparous animals. In oviparous the fertilization takes place internally but the growth and development of the embryo occurs outside i.e externally.
EXAMPLE: All birds lay eggs, frogs which are amphibians lay egg, almost all fishes are oviparous.
