Oxidation= in which oxidation no. increases OR in which amt. of Oxygen increases

Reduction=in which oxidation no. decreases OR in which oxygen's amt. decreases

I think when oxygen is used for the process of oxidation then oxygen is known as oxidant and when used for the process of reduction then it is known as reduntant
