The Ozone layer or ozone shield is a region of Earth's stratosphere that absorbs most of the Sun's ultraviolet radiation.
the ozone hole is caused by chemicals called CFCs, short for chlorofluorocarbons. CFCs escape into the atmosphere from refrigeration and propellant devices and processes.

A part of the stratosphere is known as the ozonosphere as it has the maximum concentration of ozone in the atmosphere.
A patch in the stratosphere where the Ozone Layer has become very thin is called Ozone hole.
We know that most of the Ozone in the atmosphere is concentrated in the ozonosphere. But the thickness of this layer of ozone is not the same all over the world or at all times of the Year.
Seasonal ozone depletion takes place at the north pole too, but it is much lesser because the North polar region has lesser land and the air over it does not get as cold as it gets over and South Pole. So fewer ice clouds are formed.
