Parallax is a displacement or difference in the apparent position of an object viewed along two different lines of sight, and is measured by the angle or semi-angle of inclination between those two lines. The term is derived from Ancient Greek παράλλαξις, meaning 'alternation'.

Parallax method:
Large distances, such as the distance of a planet or a star from the Earth cannot be measured directly with the metre scale, so a Parallax method is used for it.
Parallax is defined as the apparent change in the position of an object due to a change in the position of the observer.
