A fruit developed without fertilization is called parthenocarpic fruit. In these types of fruits, the ovary turns into a fruit without the male gamete fertilizing the ovule. These fruits have no seeds.

  • In botany and horticulture, parthenocarpy (literally meaning "virgin fruit") is the natural or artificially induced production of fruit without fertilisation of ovules, which makes the fruit seedless. ... However, parthenocarpy of some fruits on a plant may be of value.
