Pasteurization is the procedure that was invented by the French scientist named Louis Pasteur.

  • Pasteurization is the process through which food products, especially dairy products, are heated to kill and eliminate harmful  disease-causing bacteria and prevent salmonella. In this process the milk is heated at 71.7°C for 15 seconds but not more than 25 seconds.
  • Then it also includes rapidly cooling off the food products in to kill pathogens that might cause the food to get spoiled at a faster rate and cause diseases.
  • Pasteurization is very useful in our daily lives because it kills off bacteria and ensures that the food safe to eat.
  • It provides a longer shelf life for dairy products.

Louis Pasteur, a French scientist, devised pasteurisation.

  • Pasteurization is the heating of food, particularly dairy products, to kill and eradicate disease-causing bacteria and prevent salmonella. The milk is heated for 15 seconds at 71.7°C, but no more than 25 seconds, in this process.
  • The food is then swiftly cooled to destroy germs that may cause the food to deteriorate more quickly and cause infections.
  • Pasteurization comes very handy in our daily lives since it destroys bacteria and makes food safe to eat.
  • It allows dairy products to have a longer shelf life.
