"Pasteurization is the process of heating, and then rapidly cooling, liquids or food to kill microbes that may expedite their spoilage or cause diseases. " Uses:- We heat up the milk to get rid of heat sensitive microbes, and then cool it down really quickly thereafter to make sure that heat loving bacteria don't use the warm milk to their advantage and don't multiply in numbers to cause any harm. This process of minimizing the number of microbes not only helps to prevent life-threatening diseases, but also decreases the number of microbes that would spoil our food, thereby wasting our money on short-lasting sustenance, such as milk, milk products, milk by-products.,and so on.....

Answer:

Pasteurisation makes sure milk is safe to drink (by killing any bacteria) and also helps to prolong its shelf life. The process of pasteurisation involves heating milk to 71.7°C for at least 15 seconds (and no more than 25 seconds).
