Hey mate..

Public distribution system (PDS) is an Indian food security system. ... Major commodities distributed include staple food grains, such as wheat, rice, sugar and kerosene, through a network of fair price shops (also known as ration shops) established in several states across the country.

The following are the advantages of the public distribution system:

1. It has helped in stabilising food prices and making food available to consumers at affordable prices.

2.It has helped in avoiding hunger and famine by supplying food from surplus regions of the country to deficient regions.

hope this helped u. .!✌

Hey Mate!!!!

PDS stands for Public Distribution System

The central and state governments share responsibilities to provide food grains to the BPL. The centre procures food grains from farmers at MSP and sells it to states at central issue prices.

Those families with white ration cards and whose annual income is more than 1 lakh are excluded from the benefits of the Public Distribution System.
