Permeant settlement 1793 :
→ Introduce by Charles Cornwallis in 1793.
→ Rajas and Taluqdars Considered as zamindars they collect Revenue from peasants and pay to the company.
→ Amount to be fixed was permanent.
Problems:
→ The zmaindars were in fact not investing in the improvememt of land.

1)The Permanent Settlement was one of the most famous measures of Lord Cornwallis.
2) It was agreed that the landlords would have perpetual and hereditary rights over the land, so long as they pay the fixed revenue to the British Government.
