Persistence of vision refers to the optical illusion whereby multiple discrete images blend into a single image in the human mind and believed to be the explanation for motion perception in cinema and animated films.

Persistence of vision is the phenomena of the appearance of the impression of an object on the retina for some time even when the light is no longer falling on the object.

It's time period is 1/16th second.

This phenomena is used in animation after seeing movie, serials etc.
