pH increases with increase in hydroxyl ion concentration.
◆ Explaination -
pH is the negative logarithm to base 10 of hydrogen ion conc of solution.
pH = -log[H+]
As we know,
pH = 14 - pOH
pH = 14 - (-log[OH-])
pH = 14 + log[OH-]
As hydroxyl ion conc increases, pOH decreases and pH increases.
