photolysis is the spliting of water in to 2H+(proton) and 2 electrons yhese electron is used in light reaction and protons in atp synthesis through atp synthase

In the activated chlorophyll in presence of sunlight H2o breaks down into H+ and OH-. This is called photolysis.
