This process is performed during the day time and in the cells of the leaves.

Leaves can make the food by photosynthesis due to the presence of chlorophyll which is a green pigment present in the chloroplast of a plant.

Due to the process of photosynthesis most of the plants show autotrophic mode of nutrition.
