Answer:

Question

Explain about photosynthesis.

Answer:

The process by which green plants prepare their own food using carbon dioxide, water, energy from the sun and chlorophyll is called photosynthesis.

Equation of photosynthesis

\tiny{\underline{\boxed{\sf Corbon \: dioxide + Water \underset{Sunlight}{\xrightarrow{\text{chlorophyll}}} Glucose + Oxygen}}} </p><p>Corbondioxide+Water </p><p>Sunlight</p><p>chlorophyll</p><p>	</p><p> </p><p>	</p><p> Glucose+Oxygen

Here,

Carbon dioxide is from air.

Water is from soil.

Chlorophyll in the leaves.

Glucose is food.

Sunlight from the sun.

Or in other language, equation of photosynthesis-

{\boxed {\sf 6CO_{2} + 12H_{2}O \longrightarrow C_{6}H_{12}O_{6} + 6H_{2}O + 6O_{2} }} </p><p>6CO </p><p>2

______..

How does photosynthesis take place?

\huge\implies⟹ To carry out photosynthesis ,plants need carbon dioxide, water, chlorophyll and the presence of sunlight.

At first, Carbon dioxide from the air enters the leaves through stomata.

Then, water which is usually present in the roots, reaches the leaves through xylem vessels.

After reaching, water reacts with carbon dioxide in the leaves in the presence of sunlight to produce glucose.

And then, oxygen is released in the process as by-product.
