Answer:

The process by which green plants make their own food with the help of sunlight and chlorophyll is called photosynthesis. In plants, photosynthesis is carried out by a plastid called chloroplast. During photosynthesis, plants take in Carbon-Dioxide gas from the atmosphere with Water in the presence of sunlight and chlorophyll to produce energy in the form of ATP (Adenosine Triphosphate) molecules with the release of Oxygen gas as a by-product. This the chemical reaction for photosynthesis -

                  Sunlight

CO₂ + H₂0 --------------> C₆H₁₂0₆ + O₂

                Chlorophyll
