it's just a process of plants (green plants) to prepare their own food.

its a process by which green plants prepare carbohydrates from carbon dioxide (from atmosphere), water from soil (by root). And make carbohydrates (basically glucose) from it.

6CO2 + 6H2O -----> C6H12O6 + 6O2
oh ya ... and another thing is they use sunlight for it and do this process through chlorophyll (green pigment)
