Hey there,
The question is in reference to titration of solutions in chemistry.

● Pilot reading -
- Pilot reading is the initial rough reading taken during titration.
- This reading is used to estimate the approximate range in which the end point falls.
- Next readings are observed from 1 ml less to pilor reading to get more accurate value.

Hope this helps you.

  1. Pilot reading are taken in the estimations of solutions in volumetric chemistry i.e. in the titrations of a solution done over another solution with an additional indicator.
  2. In order to find the approximate or rough range of the end point (using the indicator).
  3. The final readings are then observed carefully and accurately from one ml before the approximate end point color change.
