plcenta is a disc shaped tissue that is formed in the 4th week of pregnancy which establish and intimate relationship between foetal membrane and uterine wall.

FUNCTIONS:-
☆ It serve as a tissue by supplying nutrients from mothers blood to foetus
☆ It serve as a respiratory organ by forming a surface for the exchange of gases between mother's blood and foetal blood
