Placenta - A special tissue embedded in the uterus wall with the help of which human embryo gets nutrition from mother’s blood

# the structure of placenta;

The placenta’s average length is 22 cm. It connects the fetus through a small pipe like structure called Umbilical cord.Structure Placenta is a disc-like structure embedded in the Uterine wall. It contains villi on the side of the embryo. It contains blood spaces, on mothers side, which surround the villi.

#the function of placenta are following ;

1. It helps in transportation of oxygen to baby.

2. It transports food of mother to the baby.

3. The waste of fetus is also transported through this.

4. It also remove metabolic waste form the embryo.

5. the blood of foetus takes place through the placenta
