✪FUNCTION ✪

⇒ The foetus gets nutrients (glucose and oxygen) from mothers blood to foetus.

⇒ The waste products like CO2 and uria are removed from foetus to mothers blood .

=> This provide large surface area for glucose and oxygen to pass into embryo under low pressure.
