Plasmid are ring ahaped piece of DNA found in bacteria, fungi and even some plants. These floats freely in the cell and are independent from the chromosomal ( Genomic ) DNA. These are so called smaller DNA. They confers certain unique phenotypic characters to such bacteia, which is resistance to antibiotics.
