plasmolysis is a process in which plant cell loose water after being in a hypertonic solution that the plant cell have Higher concentration than the solution as a result the water from higher concentration to lower concentration flows due to osmosis.

when a living plant cell loses water through osmosis there is shrinkage or contents of the cell away from the cell wall. this phenomenon is known as plasmolysis
