plasmosiss is contraction of the protoplast of a plant cell as a result of loss of water from the cell. Fruits are green when unripe but become beautifully coloured when ripe because of chloroplasts an plastid. chloroplasts perform photosynthesis during daylight hours. Chloroplasts are organelles found in plant cells and Eukaryota algae that conduct photosynthesis. Chloroplasts absorb sunlight and use it in conjunction with water and carbon dioxide gas to produce food for the plant.
