Answer:

Polymerisation is a complex process of reacting monomer molecules together as a chemical reaction to obtain a 3D network of polymer chains..

As alkenes can be formed in a simple reaction mechanisms ,what ultimately we get for our daily use compounds like polyethylene and Polyvinyl Chloride (also known as PVC), when undergoing radical reactions. PVC is used for commercial usage such as manufacturing pipes, insulating materials roof top corrugated sheets and packaging.. The PVC is also known as Homopolymer as it consists of repeated long chains or stuctures of the same monomer unit. Polymers which consist of more than one molecule is called as Co polymers.

This subject of chemistry is very vast. Hence someone who has done MSc in ( Chem) will be able to explain it in a more simplified way.

Polymerisation process, is a complex operation and if due procedure is not followed it may result in a hazardous product which may catch fire very abruptly.
