Sir J.E. Adamson proposed a tri-polar theory of education, when he was not satisfied with Adam's view if bi-polar theory. According to him the essence of education consists in adjustment which he describes bringing the individual and his world into relation.
The world of the individual in reality three worlds, nature, society and morality, which correspond to the activities of knowing, feeling and willing in human experience
He admits that the second and third world overlap to a certain extent. The process of adjustment has both passive and active aspects. The child is moulded by shows an idealistic emphasis his elaboration of the meaning of adjustment.
