  • PURNIMA is the word for full moon in Sanskrit. The day of Purnima is the day in each month when the full moon occurs, and marks the division in each month between the two lunar fortnights, and the Moon is aligned exactly in a straight line.

  • AMAVASYA means the lunar phase of the New moon in Sanskrit. Amavasya is the day when the moon is not visible during the night, this is why, it is also known as the no moon day. It holds great significance in the Hindu faith as many of the devotees make offerings to their dead ancestors on this day. Amavasya or no moon day is the day of the new Lunar month.
