 General features of phylum Porifera:

1)They are mostly marine and non-motile.

2)They are mostly found attached to rocks.

3)They show cellular level of organization.

4)Their body is not organized into tissues and organs.
 
5)Their bodies are porous. Their bodies has holes or pores all over, which allows the circulation of water throughout the body and bring in food and oxygen.

Porifera is actually the scientific name given to the group of organisms known commonly as sponges. But, unlike SpongeBob, living sponges are neither square in shape nor in interest- they are actually a really important and diverse phylum within the animal kingdom. 

characteristics:

1.It's common name is the " pore-bearing " animal.
2.The body develops from two (2) cell layers.
3.It is asymmetrical.
4.It's a free-living organismBody is covered with pores.
5.They are sessile.
6.They have special cells for digestion and support.
7.They are the simplest of all animals..
8.Reproduction is both a-sexual and sexual..
9.They are filter feeders.
10.Digestion is intracellular.
11.structural elements are spicules and spongin.
