Powada is dramatic narration in by alternately reciting poetry and prosaic extracts.

Powada narrates great deed of heroic men and women in a very forceful and inspiring way.

Powada composed by adyanandas, a contemporary poet of chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj narrting incidence of killing of afzalkhan.

During samyukta movement Powada were used as medium of creating public awareness.
