The rate at which electric energy is dissipated or consumed, is termed as electric power.

power (P) = V × I (1)
V = I×R ( Ohms law) (2)
substituting (2) in (1)
P = I × I × R

P = V×I (1)
I= V/R (2)
Substituting (2) in (1)
P= V×V/R
