 \huge{\sf{ Power \: of \ accommodation}}

The ability of human eye to adjust its focal length is called power of accommodation.

Hence, the focal length of the eye cannot be decreased below a certain minimum limit.

The power of accommodation of the eye is the maximum variation of its power for focussing on near and far ( distant ) objects.

For a normal eye, the power of accommodation is about 4 dioptres.

To see an object clearly and comfortably, we must hold it at about 25 cm away from our eyes.

The minimum distance at which objects can be seen without strain is called the " least distance of distinct vision." or " near point of the eye ".
