Precipitation is water released from clouds in the form of rain, freezing rain, sleet, snow, or hail. It is the primary connection in the water cycle that provides for the delivery of atmospheric water to the Earth. Most precipitation falls as rain.

Answer:

The process of precipitating a substance from a solution from a solution.

Explanation:

When two solutions containing salt combine to form an insoluble salt (precipitate).

*A salt is an Ionic Compound.

Example:

CuSO4 + 2NaOH --------> Cu(OH)2 + Na2SO4

Copper Sulphate (Solution) when added with Sodium Hydroxide (Solution) gives Copper Hydroxide (Precipitated Salt) which is insoluble salt in Sodium Hydroxide (Solution).
