- Presently atom is considered to be fundamental (yet divisible) unit of matter.
- Each atom contains protons & neutrons in the nucleus and electrons revolving around nucleus in specific orbits.
- Nucleus (d/t protons) is positively charged while periphery (d/t electrons) is negatively charged.
- This electrons can get excited to higher orbit by absorbing energy.
