Primary sludge is a result of the capture of suspended solids and organics in the primary treatment process through gravitational sedimentation, typically by a primary clarifier. The secondary treatment process uses microorganisms to consume the organic matter in the wastewater.

Sewage sludge treatment describes the processes used to manage and dispose of sewage sludgeproduced during sewage treatment. Sludge is mostly water with lesser amounts of solid material removed from liquid sewage. Primary sludge includes settleable solids removed during primary treatment in primary clarifiers. Secondary sludge separated in secondary clarifiers includes treated sewage sludge from secondary treatment bioreactors.

most of the suspended solids like faces scheduled down at a sloping bottle of the primary sedimentation tank in form of primary sludge.the primary sludge removed from the bottom of the primary sedimentation tank with is a scraper and shifted large closed and called digester tank
