When a body or a particle is not projected vertically upward from the ground , however at an angle with the horizontal and is made to have it's motion in a curve under the influence of gravity is known as projectile motion.

projectile motion is a form of motion experience by an object or particles that is projected near the Earth's surface and moves along a curved path under the action of gravity only.
