Prokaryote as the name suggests are primitive cells, having no distinct nucleus. Nuclear membrane is absent and genetic material lies uncovered. They also lack golgi body and endoplasmic reticulum. It has 70s ribosome. Eukaryotic cells can be imagined as more developed cells having distinct nucleus and various organelles for different functions.
