protoplasmic streaming also known as cytoplasmic streaming is a directed and regular flow of cytoplasm (cytosol + organelles) in the cell, occuring due to myosin-coated organelles moving along actin filaments in the cytoskeleton of the cell causing cytosol to move as well.

The function of cyclosis is that it aids in the delivery of oxygen, certain organelles such as ribosomes etc., nutrients, genetic information and other things to reach to all parts of the cell. Cytoplasmic streaming is important in maintaining the concentration gradient between the inside and the outside of the cell because it quickly brings the materials to their destination site where they are used up. That’s it.
