public interest litigation is directly filled by an individual or group of people in the supreme court of India and high court of India and judicial member it was felt that their interest are undermined by the government in such a situation the court directly accept the public interest litigation

Importance of public interest litigation :
1. it gives a wider description to right to equality , life and personality which is guaranteed under constitution .
2. it has also introduced some of reliefs and remedies under the writs jurisdiction .
3. it also functions as an effective instrument for change in society and welfare of society.
4. through it , any person can seek the remedies on behalf of oppressed class
