Western Himalayas are also called Punjab Himalayas. They are covered over a large part of Afghanistan, Tajikistan , Kashmir and Nepal. All five main rivers of Indus ( Jhelum, Chenab, Ravi, Beas and Sutlej) originate from these mountain. These mountains also have a wide spread of coniferous trees, alpine shrubs and broadleaves forest.
