every charged body is being charged due to the presence of excess or deficiency of electron.hence the magnitude of charge on a charged particle is the integral multiplication of charge on 1 electron.

ie, q=n*e

where q is the charge of the body,

n is the number of electrons in it,

e is the charge on one electron.

this is said to be quantisation of charge.

Quantization of charge means that when we say something has a given charge, we mean that that is how many times the charge of a single electron it has. ... So electrons have a a negative charge, negative charge. And that means that when I rub silk on glass, the glass gets a positive charge.
