A polynomial equation of its general form

f(x) = a {x}^{2}  + bx + c

∀ a ≠ 0

is known as a

"QUADRATIC" equation

Whereas,

A polynomial equation of the general form

f(x) = a {x}^{4}  + b {x}^{3}  + c {x}^{2}  + dx + e

∀ a ≠ 0

is known as a

"QUARTIC" equation

Notice the difference between

Quartic & Quadratic

A quartic equation of the form :

f(x) =   a_{2} {x}^{4}  +   a_{1} {x}^{2}  + a _{0}

is Known as a

"BiQuadratic" equation

since, it misses in terms containing third degree and first degree.
