the process of collecting rainwater and using it for different purposes is known as rainwater harvesting. it is mostly practised in the states which do not have a supply of water throughout the year. the rain water is collected in the rainy season and used throughout the rest of the Year. generally in this the water of the first train is not collected as it cleans the roof and the pipes. some houses in Rajasthan have connected their underground rooms without tankas which store the rain water collected and keeps the room cool.
