Range can be defined as the difference between the largest and the smallest item in a distribution.

Range (R) = Largest item(L) - Smallest item(S)

Solution :

It is always better to first arrange the observations in ascending or descreasing order. In an ascending order, the values are: 9, 10, 10, 12, 15, 16, 18, 19, 21, 25

A Visual examination shows that :-

largest item (L) = 25
Smallest item (S) = 9

Range = L - S
25 - 9 = 16

Ans. 16
