raoult's law :

the partial pressure of any volatile constituent of a solution at a constant temperature is equal to the vapour pressure of pure constituent multiplied by the mole fraction of that constituent in the solution...

limitations of this law

  • Rolls-Royce applicable only to very dilute solution
  • roads no is applicable to solution containing non volatile solute only
  • roads no it is not applicable to solutely dissociates or associate solution.
