AnswEr:-

Lets learn about rational numbers in points to understand betterly.

  • All numbers which are in form of p/q are called rational number.

  • Where p and q are integers and q is not equal to zero.

Let us now understand some facts about rational numbers:-

  • All integers (wheter it is negative or positive) is a rational number.

For example:- -1, and 3 both are rational numbers because both can be written as -1/1 and 3/1 So these are in p/q form and q is not equal to zero.

  • In the rational number q must be greater that or less than 0 but not equal to 0. If it is equal to 0 then the number is not a rational number and its value would be undefined.

For example:- 5/0, is not a rational number and its value is undefined as 5/0 = 000000.............

  • All numbers with a terminating or repeating decimal expansion are rational numbers.

For example:- 1.87 is a rational number as it can be written as 187/100.

  • There are infinite number of rational numbel between two rational numbers.

For example:- We have two rational numbers 1 and 2 so rational numbers betwen 1 and 2 are 1.1, 1.01, 1.001, 1.2, 1.0002 .....etc = Infinite.

If p and q are any two numbers where q is not equal to 0, then the form p/q is called as rational number.
