what is real time operating system? how is it different from other os in terms of processing ????? plz answer this ............... fast guys

real time operating system give maximum time for each of the critical operation that it perform.
mean to say that it take lot of time while completing 1 task . n other task are in waiting list after that it take other task to complete. mean it's very long process.
