Recoil is the backward momentum of a gun when it is discharged . Recoil velocity of a gun is the velocity by which the gun recoils after being shot . According to Newton's third law of motion -every action has an equal and opposite reaction.

annanya57: recoil velocity is always in (_)
harsh12320: Negative sign indicates that recoil velocity is alwaysopposite to the firing velocity.
